TomaTío

Run TomaTío yourself

Your own brain, on a WordPress of its own.

Set up a new WordPress site for TomaTío, connect your AI in about ten minutes, and keep getting every improvement the team ships. Almost all of it is built; the code goes public on GitHub at the end of October. A brain always gets its own WordPress install, never a place inside an existing website: it holds your team's private context and your agents' keys, and every other plugin on a site can read its database. This page walks that journey step by step, says honestly what works today and what is still missing, and shows where it sits on the launch roadmap. The dates are proposals.

The promise to self-hosters

What someone running their own copy can count on, from the first public release.

  1. Same software as ours. The brains we host run the exact release zip anyone can download. No private fork.
  2. Updates arrive by themselves.New versions show up in WordPress's own Updates screen, with one-click or automatic updates.
  3. Updates are safe.Database changes migrate automatically, connectors keep working, and every release has a changelog.
  4. Nothing is locked.Every feature is in the free plugin. Optional services stay optional.
  5. You can leave.Export everything with the Portable Context Protocol (PCP) and move to any host or tool.
  6. Verifiable.Every release zip has a checksum, and the code is GPL on GitHub.

The journey, step by step

what a newcomer does, and what is in the way
1discover

WrittenFind it and see how to start

This page is the start. The README on GitHub opens with what TomaTío is, the requirements, a 10-minute install, how to connect your AI, how updates arrive, how to leave, and the promise below.

2check

Check firstMeet the requirements

  • WordPress 7.1 or newer and PHP 8.3 or newer: the plugin will not activate on older versions
  • HTTPS, so your AI apps can sign in
  • A WordPress install of its own, for example brain.yourcompany.com: a fresh site with nothing else on it. Not one more plugin on your existing website, where other plugins, themes and users could reach the brain's data

PHP 8.3 is the likeliest hurdle, because some shared hosts still default to 8.1 or 8.2. Most hosting panels let you switch a site to 8.3, and the README shows where. PHP 8.2 stops getting security fixes at the end of 2026, so 8.3 stays the minimum.

3download

~30 OctGet the right zip

Every release builds a ready-to-install zip with a SHA-256 checksum. From the end of October each release on GitHub carries them. GitHub's own “Download ZIP” of the source will not work, because it lacks the packages and built files, so the README points at the releases.

4install

WorksCreate its site, then upload and activate

Create a new WordPress site for the brain (most hosts do it in one click), then Plugins → Add New → Upload, and Activate. On a fresh site, TomaTío asks once whether this WordPress is just for the brain and, if so, hides the website screens. On a site with other plugins, content or extra administrators, the signs of an existing website, it warns you instead.

5first run

WorksA brain that is ready to use

A new brain starts with a team scope, so there is nothing to set up first, and the Get started checklist walks through agents, teammates and connecting an AI.

6connect

WorksConnect your AI

The Connect an AI page gives the exact address to paste and the steps for each app. claude.ai and Claude Desktop, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code and Gemini CLI sign in with OAuth and find the sign-in by themselves; Claude Code and other command-line tools use an application password.

7share

WorksShare a document

Share links work from the brain's own address, with nothing extra to set up. A separate preview subdomain stays available for teams that want one.

8update

BuiltKeep getting every improvement

The built-in updater ships in the plugin. It starts offering updates as soon as releases appear on GitHub at the end of October.

  • From the end of October: the updater checks TomaTío's GitHub Releases, verifies each zip against its checksum, and offers the update in WordPress's normal Updates screen (one click, or automatic if the site allows it). A new release about once a week; urgent fixes as soon as they are ready.
  • After the public launch: the WordPress.org listing takes over updates, and the built-in updater steps aside, so nobody is offered the same update twice.
  • Always: the database migrates on update, tool names stay stable (a renamed tool keeps its old name as an alias), every release has a changelog, and an export before updating is one click.
9leave

AlmostTake everything with you

PCP export, restore and import are built and in every release. A brain announces export to other tools once an automated round trip between two brains passes.
